160525_Matthew_Algie_4_imagesIndependent Glasgow-based coffee roasters with a long involvement with Fairtrade. Matthew Algie introduced the first Fairtrade espresso beans to the UK in 1997 and in 2004 they launched the world’s first triple certified espresso, and now have six in their range. Currently over 90% of their coffees by volume are sourced from Fairtrade certified cooperatives, with the remainder coming from private farms.  All their coffees are traceable, and all ethically sourced.  They also supply Fairtrade teas in their own Pavilion range and from Belfast-based Suki tea company.  For more on Matthew Algie’s Fairtrade coffees click here.
